I found out this morning the Cardinals are going to have a large, public send off this Friday as they head out to New Orleans for their next playoff game.  Details will be announced later, but this event is supposed to take place on the West Cargo ramp this Friday.  Should happen sometime between 9:00 & 2:00.

Keep your eyes open for a public announcement with additional details.  This sounds like a great opportunity for a twofer: ramp shots of the Cardinals and possibly other planes on the ramp?

FYI: the Cardinals have typically been using a NWA 757 for their charters this season.  Currently, no info on what type of plane they will use this Friday, but it would be great if it were something different than what we typically get at PHX.  Let's see, we just had an A330 carrying the Green Bay Packers last week.  If the plane gods are listening, how about a 747 classic, or maybe a 777...?  Either of these are probably too much to ask for, but worth the try anyway ;).

Thanks,
Dave

I'd settle for them borrowing the Coyotes' 727.

Anybody seen any more info on this?  I made a quick pass through the Cardinals website/forums yesterday - and nothing jumped out at me.

[nothing on FlightAware between PHX and MSY tomorrow except a Southwest Flight leaving at 2:02pm MST]

Channel 12 just said the same thing (send off from 10am to Noon).

The Green Bay flight last week was NWA9961.

When I look at the history of NWA9962 - it shows the Cardinal road trips for the last 3 months.

I wonder if  Delta/NW has the NFL contract for charters......

[I am planning on being down at 40th Street to try to catch the departure around 11:45.  There is a Delta 767 to Atlanta sched to leave at 12:30 as well]

Arizona Cardinals departing to New Orleans for their Saturday afternoon game against the Saints.

They left a couple of minutes early - so shortly after the plane was gone - a guy from one of the office buildings walked up to AirportJunkie and I asking if the Football team plane had left.  We told him it had - but that it didn't have anything special on it (other than being a 'big' plane)
