Joe Copalman

No, FINEX flights originate and terminate at MCAS Yuma.

Really nice catch on the Hunters, Lynn.  Were they there as aggressors or just randomly?

Joe Copalman

WTIs tend to bring various odd participants.  The Hind based up in Kingman is a frequent participant, as is an An-2 that carries an ACMI pod.  Last WTI they had some AlphaJets operated by another contractor participating, as well as those two little Bede micro-jets.  ATAC could have been there as aggressors (fitting, since most potential nations where MEUs will operate independent of carrier support aren't fielding F-5 class aircraft), but they also do stuff like fly simulated CAS missions for JTAC training or simulated cruise missile profiles to train the air defense guys and other stuff like that.

Way to go Colin.  Looks like you had good access for some photography.  A good cause also.  That Corsair sure looked sweet.  Did you get to see it fly?
