The AL-1 was canceled, but that doesn't mean they're not moving forward with a similar system.  If they were able to scale down the system to fit a Global Express while still retaining a similar level of "effectiveness," that would make for a much more cost-effective theater anti-ballistic missile platform with a much smaller footprint.
