Wow.  It's like buying used gear at new prices, minus the built-in cost of a warranty.

Such is the state of the used market right now...  You'll find similar "inflation" on POTN and Fred Miranda as well.

On the upside, LensRentals cherry picks lenses when they buy them for their inventory and they also maintain their stuff well.  I can't think of the last time I read where someone was unhappy with a lens from them.

FWIW, I'd love to snag a 14mm f/2.8L and the $1700 for the 8.5/10 model they're selling is certainly cheaper than the $2081 new from B&H.

However, KEH has one rated LN- for $1479 so it pays to "shop around."

Caveat Emptor...

ETA: There's a very good chance with LensRentals that any lens that has had a major issue during their two-year use cycle got sent to the manufacturer for service.
Can't say that with used gear off CL, eBay, POTN, FM or even KEH...
