There's a full Moon arising tonight near sunset...
Here's my "missed it by that much" attempt from last month... Hope to try again tonight - but there are clouds out there right now.

Thanks Scott! Here's another one from last month - the Sunset/Moonrise split time was farther apart than it is tonight - hoping for better than abstractness.

Hey Mike:

Wondering when you'll be leading a workshop on "missed it by that much" photography. While I appreciate your dedication to achieving a particular image, this is one heck of a miss my brother. Well done.

Lol Jeff! "I set very high standards for myself, and fail to achieve them."
Tonight's Moonshot from Yuma: Meh. Cloudy.
Hope others had/have better luck - the Moon is in the proper position as I type, just can't see it from here!!

Eastbound traffic from PHX tonight, so there's the possibility to get shots of outbound aircraft flying through the disc of the moon.  Better than when they're on approach because they're way higher.  When traffic is to the west, the moon shots I get are like a wing and an engine eclipsing the moon.  Might give it a shot, but the primary mission tonight is getting prepped for Coolidge and the PASM night shoot tomorrow.
"I'm sorry sir, you can't take photos of that aircraft."

"If you've seen my work, you'd know I really can't take photos of any aircraft."
