I was wondering if any of you use the Getty Images option on Flickr. Is so, has it been a good experience, bad experience, or more importantly, have you made any money?

I've exercised the option but never been contacted by either Getty nor by anyone claiming to use their services (although I do get the occasional direct contact). I understand you can submit a handful of images monthly to catch the attention of one of their employees but honestly haven't explored that very thoroughly.

I use it, but it is now pretty hard to get images accepted.  I have about a dozen with them, and I have made around $500 from them over the last year and a half.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

I think part of the problem in not getting much response is that there is a very narrow market for aircraft pictures and relatively little interest in them in general.

Among my thousands of aircraft pictures on Flickr I have a very few photos of fire trucks that happen to have responded to the airport while I was there. With the exception of a couple of planes that have crashed, those fire truck pictures get more views than any of my aircraft shots.
