Always liked the looks of the MU-2 but I guess they're a real handful to fly.  All kinds of remedial training needed to obtain insurance.

Ditto.  MU-2s can be really nice-looking from some angles, and pretty ugly from others.  You nailed one of the good angles.

  Too bad that I could not get a decent shot of the right side of this Canadian MU-2.....it of course had "Transwest Air" titles on the shady side! Oh well....if he returns in December and parks the same way then the shots will be taken at that time. I have shot many MU-2s from that exact same angle and as long as the registration was not painted on the large part of the tail, that angle always looked nice to me.
  On a side note, I have quite a lot of practice shooting the MU-2 series of aircraft over the years. When I was living back in Oklahoma, there was a company in Tulsa called Intercontinental Jet Corporation. They would always let me walk their ramp at TUL to shoot all of the MU-2s. I would see them from all over the world on that one ramp. Not at all odd to see birds from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Columbia, and even a few from Argentina on the same day. Usually there were at least a good 10-15 on their ramp at any one time. I just had to pick the ones that were parked the best for good photography, and those were the ones I shot that day. Then maybe the next day I would come back hoping the bland bird parked next to the exotic one, blocking a clean shot of course, would have departed. I probably now have a good 50+ Mitsubishi MU-2s in my collection of slides now thanks to that place.

Ahhh.....nothing like good memories of long forgotten aviation photography freedoms!
