What an absolute blast to finally attend my first NAFEC Photo Call. Lot's of amazing images shared so far by the group. VFA-122's T-34 may have been the smallest movement we saw, but it was definitely a highlight for me.

Living in a town with an airport that is lucky to see a 717 every day as its largest movement, the launch of British Airways' 3 retro 747s this year seemed like something unattainable for me as a photographer. As luck would have it, BA was kind enough to send the Negus-liveried 747-400 to Sky Harbor yesterday, and while it was a race against the quickly-setting sun, it wound up making for some gorgeous shots.

It was great getting to meet up with Srs. Copalman and Navarro yesterday as well!

It wouldn't be a trip back home to Arizona without some photography and AZAP posts  :)

Last night I finally got to check a bucket-list item off and visit Kiwanis Park during WTI. It was great to get to meet a few more AZAP members and take in some solid rotary-winged action. A full set of photos from the evening can wait until a WTI 1-20 thread is opened (since as a Sponsored Member I cannot open one) but I wanted to throw this night shot of one of the participating UH-1Ys in here, as I was quite pleased with the result!

Great shots! I saw them there when I drove by yesterday. I assume it's safe to say they've gone back to Yuma?

It's not often that something with ties to my old home of Arizona happens here in Virginia, and it's even rarer when it involves aviation as well! Last week I made the several hours' drive to Bridgewater to welcome Columbine II, which was so gorgeously documented in the Marana threads here on AZAP. I had never seen a Constellation fly, so it was a real treat!

Cargo Aircraft Management Boeing 767-338 N371CM at Sky Harbor as Airborne Express flight ABX2010 from Los Angeles on November 26. Its QANTAS heritage is revealed by the faint kangaroo tail.

Very cool! Neat to see her live on, and in the states too! When I was shooting her, she was still known as -VH-OGO with Qantas. Nice shot!

A little bit of Airbus action from Sky Harbor

I am not a panning expert, especially compared to many on this site, but I decided to try and get a little more adventurous during my last afternoon in town.

I have fallen hopelessly behind on photos. So here is a pleasant surprise from a quick outing to Sky Harbor... this past May :)

Some awesome air to air stuff in here! I admit when I read this challenge I interpreted it far to literally as multiple aircraft, one and only one of which can be airborne. So here is my slightly less Incredi-Bou photo for this round. Bonus points for 10 aircraft?  ;D

Seeing Anna's post from CWAM here in Texas got me thinking about their fixed wing assets, and the former-Bulgarian AF MiGs in particular. While the Flogger has since vanished, they still have the Fishbed. Seeing the Flogger do it's thing was a real treat too!

Hey guys,

I spent the better part of a day at IWA before Memorial Day weekend, hoping something military might pop in, but was stymied in that regard. Despite that, it was a nice afternoon in Mesa. Great temps, and I still snagged some worthwhile frames.

I am under the impression that this is the new face of "Con Air"?

And of course the requisite Allegiant traffic

I am finally home and getting around to my photos from my quick Thursday afternoon at Luke. Definitely an enjoyable time, and more F-16s than I had seen in a while. I was quite impressed with the canopy tint on this Viper, hadn't seen one quite so gold in a long time.

Thanks to the news that my original plans to camp out at Luke on Friday would have been fruitless, I decided to run over this afternoon for the first time. The sun was playing peek-a-boo throughout the recover of the F-16s, but I think I managed to save this shot of the one local Viper I rather wanted a photo of...

A 767 favorite of mine from a trip down under. A Qantas 763 approaches the runway with downtown Sydney as a backdrop. Bit of an odd composition, but I love how it came out.
