Warbirds / Re: TBM / TBF Avengers

Very nice set Ned.  I like every one of them.  My father was on Aircraft Carriers during World War II and he told me that he would often get rides from one carrier to another on the Avenger to take part in sporting competitions between Navy ships.  My dad was a boxer (Welterweight) and rose to become the Welterweight Champion of the Navy.  He did a short stint as a professional after the war, but family responsibilities interrupted that career.

I love backyard shots.  When I lived in Virginia, my house was on the approach to Dulles International.  Around 4 pm daily, the big jets from Europe and the Middle East would start their descent into IAD.  Just walked out on the patio and started shooting.  Lots of opportunity but results were not always up to par.  Your shot however, is very nice.  I assume that this was the Patriots.  Nicely done Mike.

Miscellaneous / Re: Flickr to be acquired by SmugMug

Thanks Anna.  I've got a lot of images on Flickr, so taking them down and uploading on something else is a non-starter.  Hopefully it will, as you said, be a good thing...eventually.  I agree that the Verizon fit wasn't a good one.

AzAP General Information / Re: Introductions

Welcome Thomas.  I'm no longer living in Arizona, but follow the exploits of the AZAP and contribute whenever and wherever I can.  Maybe we'll get to meet in person the next time I'm back in Arizona.  I'm to be back in the area during the month of August.

Nice capture Taj!  The Hustler looks like it's traveling Mach 2 when it's sitting on the ramp.  What a great design from Convair.

;D Wouldn't that be a hoot!  Fix it on the computer and it automatically translates to the physical object.  All the best to you Scott and the rest of the AZAP group.  Maybe I can hook up with you all again this coming August when Susie and I make our pilgrimage back to Arizona from South Carolina.  I do miss going out on the photo shoots with you all.   :'(
