Here's my take on this morning's EVA departure. Trying to decide which of the first two I like better - please chime in with your thoughts. The third shot is for James and his fascination with retraction sequences.
Okay, a slight tweak to that 2nd shot...and removed the first shot. No mas redundancy...
I like the angle on the top photo better, but I think the second one is the better photo as the aircraft is out of most of that ground-level heat haze.
Awesome shots dave, what time did this leave because I was on a plane at 1115am and didnt see this one at all, but did get a pic of the US bird.
Mitchell,
Thanks, glad you like 'em. She lifted off right around 11:15. This was on the north runway. Were you on the south side?
Mitchell, were you in the dark blue Alaska bird? I think Jack got shots of you if you were.
Sadly I was not, in a boring US Air 319, I am coming back sunday on Alaska and did get a nice shot of the blue bird up close taxxing to the rwy,
Here's my take on the Eva trip-7... What a treat! Nice coverage guys!
LOL - yup. Good coverage.
I had thought about the T4 garage, but worried about light poles. Looks like they weren't an issue - that's an awesome shot.
Also looks like they've found a new use for the old Customs hangar across the way...
Yes sir, that would be the Mesa Airlines maintenance hangar. I think I chose this shot because Mesa is one of our customers and I work directly behind that hangar.... Eh... I thought it was kinda cool. ::)
Here's that 777 returning from Taiwan with the Dodgers.

Short Final 25R Las Vegas....
(http://just.razzi.me/photos/314034/8510674.jpg) (http://razzi.me/p/314034")
Finally catching up from my week long stay in Vegas last month. There was some excitement as I was taking this pic. I went to the public park located on the South east part of the airport, I forget the cross streets. I figured it was a public park no hassles and was a great spot for getting arrivals. As I was taking this pic I noticed this fairly large guy walking at a good pace towards me, he didn't appear that he was really into photography and wasn't interested in talking shop other than maybe borrowing my stuff on a permanent basis. I started walking away and made a turn for the road nearby .I looked back and he changed his course as well.. I made another turn and he did to. I made it to the road with lots of cars and proceeded to walk about 100 yards down the road and my follower had vanished. I waited a few minutes and looked around and there he was approaching from another direction. SO I go back the way I came and hustled my pace up. I go back to where I originally was and noticed that my follower had given up and left the park. Naturally my phone was in the car and was not close by. I hung out for another hour with no other excitement.Guess that would have been one way to replace the old 30D.

Bjorn,
A suggestion for getting the starry effect on the lights: try a smaller aperture, somewhere up around f 11 ~ f 16. It's going to be a little tougher to get a clean shot; window balancing vs. smaller aperture/slower shutter speed. If you dig through the F-16 thread and locate one of Jeff's recent EOR shots, he's got some good star action happening. I believe he said he was at f 11 for the shot.
I dug through that F-16 thread and located that shot of Jeff's I was talking about: http://azaerophoto.com/forum/index.php?topic=109.msg47332#msg47332

Good Shot Steve. This aircraft is a little larger than the last Saudia flight I rode on, a 737-200 in 1987, from Riyadh to Bangkok.

one of the regulars here at Amsterdam, while working on the taxi ways the aircraft had to taxi using the runway, which (if positioned correctly) gave some nice opertunities

Nice stuff Barry. You get a nice variety of international aircraft at YYZ.
I think I mentioned this before...
Funny, how I never connected the relationship before, but, one of my favorite progressive rock bands: Rush had a song called YYZ. The drummer, Neil Peart, would always do his amazing drum solo in that song. After you posted some stuff from Toronto, I finally figured out where the name of the song came from. With the members of Rush being from Toronto, I should have figured it out sooner.
Not that this is valuable information...

+1 for me also Bjorn. Your recent work from Frankfurt has been nothing short of spectacular. Well done sir.
Thank you Jeff and Harvey for your kind words. Really means a lot for me coming from you guys, as I admire your work as well.
A shot which I had in mind for a while now, I wanted to do a low angle just after pushback, I recon it came out ok.
