Great work Jay! I like that particular Wildcat a lot. What aircraft type were you in?
Hiya Scott...
We were in the CAF PBJ-1 "Devil Dog"
They pulled the .50 cals out of each side (shot through gun ports), opened the emergency hatch on the right and the tail was open.
Couldn't do full tail, but could crawl back to shoot past official photographer (Jim Wilson)
Just riding in a Mitchell is cool, taking photos of warbirds out of it all the better!
It was hella cool...

This and your other recent posts are fabulous! I'm partial to Wildcats so I posted here but that recent Laird "Commercial" over the plowed fields is top notch, very professional work on these recent posts Jay.
TYVM Scott
Amazing series of shots Jay
Thanks! ;D
Any of you boys seen an aircraft carrier around here...?

Gorgeous Jay as all of these recent posts have been. What was used as the photo ship?

We were two at a time on Scott Slocum's A36 Bonanza with Scott driving and offering suggestions along the way. Next year, they want to have two Bonanzas available to put four shooters up on each round.
You're my hero Beckman! ;D

One of several things I like about this shot is that the Wildcat looks like an operational aircraft. It's dirty enough to look believable. The complete prop arc is impressive. How slow did you have to shoot? Well done!
IIRC 1/60 got full disc. We kept to a pretty good cruise speed. It wasn't quite slow enough for full disc on a four-bladed Corsair though.
The close up shot earlier was at 1/45.
Beautiful stuff Jay.

I don't believe any jet aircraft would look as good in this shot as the Wildcat does. This is a part of aviation history that I hope never goes away, a spinning prop is where it all started. You certainly do these aircraft justice, thank you Jay.
