Can't believe we don't have a DC-10 thread yet. Getting the party started:

What can Brown do for you?
Nice shots guys.
You know what Brown can do for me Dave? Brown lost a very important box of my stuff, when I moved back to AZ. back in 1990. Brown can find my damn box. That's what Brown can do for me. As a consolation, a ride in their DC-10 would work for now.
I'll see what I can do.
They can also find my jacket that I left in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and that a friend sent back via UPS.
I loved that damned jacket.
Joining your DC-10/MD-11 party.... not sure if you guys get many snow photos here. ;-)

Yes it is, taken a few years ago back in Chicago when we lived there.
Ah, I see. Was seriously scratching my head trying to figure out what Eva was doing in Phoenix. Any chance you can post those with a little context to them in the future? Might save me some serious heart attack potential... lol!

I really like this one Joe ,I love the detail on the fuselage all that grime ,its obvious its a working bird ,plus kinda nostalgic since I grew up just a few miles from where they built them .................................. ,hey wait! I just noticed on the nose it says "MD-10" ,did I miss something?
Thanks Chris! DC-10s make me nostalgic as well, as it seemed that was all that flew out of O'Hare when I was growing up just outside Chicago.
MD-10 = DC-10 with updated avionics to make it common with the MD-11.
Yeah I read about it on everyones favorite online encyclopedia and it makes sence why they did the conversion now pilots who are trained on the MD-11 can fly the DC-10 and vice versa
Well done Vance. I like both images.

Thanks Chris. They must be max load when they arrive at PXH, because they really plant that beast on the runway when they land. I wonder how many landings before tire change?
yeah good question ,plus whats the price of a tire this guy almost looks as if he may have been a carrier pilot re-living his glory days

I know I'm being a nit-picky bugger here, but I just wanted to point out that that aircraft is actually an MD-10. Only FedEx operates MD-10's, and it is a basically a full flight deck conversion from the 3-crew DC-10 flight deck to the modern 2-crew MD-11 flight deck. Externally, you'd almost never be able to tell the difference, but it is possible. Notice the fin antenna on top of the fuselage at the wings. On a DC-10, that antenna would be located over the cockpit. MD-11's and MD-10's have that antenna over the wings.
Ok, nit-picking is complete! Great photos, Brian! ;D

The early morning AZ light is certainly revealing Scott. Here is a late evening shot that is a tad more subtle due to the overcast. If you hadn't noticed, I like DC-10's and MD-11's - especially the 3/4 backside angle ;D

While I was not successful, I did appreciate our consolation prize of one UPS and two FedEx trijets that arrived in short succession as the last rays of sunshine were disappearing below the horizon.

Very nice photo Anna. Was this taken at the 40th st. location we talked about a couple months ago? My orientation is off on this, is this sunrise or sunset, I'm thinking sunrise.
Thank you Harvey. :)
This was at 40th St at sunset. I went a bit further west to the second big transmission line tower so I was just across from the threshold of 25L. The box haulers typically use 25L with the freight operations being on the south side of the field.

Dittos, beautiful shot Anna. You can really see how much twist the wing has in this view. Less incidence at tip than root.
Thank you Jeff and Scott.... ;D
What I really liked about the capture was the jello from the engines highlighted by the faint rays of sun trying to break through this morning's clouds way to the east. The sunrise amongst the clouds reflecting off the nose of the airframe is pretty cool too.
Hi Anna, your description of what you like about this shot would have been mine nearly word for word. Hope I don't sound like a kiss up, but I really like this photo, nice work.

Anna, yes that light in the jello air is a really nice feature of the image. I especially like the way it looks on the closer engine's exhaust.
