John Freckman is Ret. USCG and Sikorsky logs all rescues in their helicopters. So he called them and they had all 5 of his. Some off the coast of LAX. They also sent him the logo for the rescue, sort of like a kill marking, it's a "rescue" mark. The above shows the dates of the rescue.

Oh Rly!?
Must have been between 1pm and 4pm while we were back up at the hotel near DVT.
Great Catch!
Pretty sure you were in the area, as you posted a shot of MitS taxiing back that had to have been taken no more than twenty minutes after I shot this: http://azaerophoto.com/forum/index.php?topic=3.msg14240#msg14240. Nanchang landed at 3:42, B-25 at 3:57.
Hmmm,
We must have just walked into the CAF hangar from the parking lot at that point.

Great A2A photos Joe. According to your Exif the last was shot with a 50mm focal length - that left wing tip was nice and tight to your ride. In all three photos, it is obvious that the pilot and rear seat wanted to learn about photography - they are sure watching you take their photos ;D

Cool shot Matt! That is one crusty Nanchang but in a way it adds to the shot. More authentic. Just need to superimpose the Great Wall in the background!

Nice series Rob and Jay! it looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Great photos.
Thanks! It was rather incredible even with the crappy weather the first day!
Agreed with Steve - you guys both got some remarkable shots out of that trip.
I was telling Jay that I think you guys actually lucked out with that weather in one regard - I don't think I've seen a hint of glare in any of those shots. I know from flying with the Red Star guys previously that you don't really have a say on these flights, and for half a flight, your subjects might be backlit or throwing a crapload of glare your way. The "softbox" effect you guys got really neutralized all that nonsense.
Thanks for the kind words!
Here's one of my favorite shots showing the texture of the CJ!
