The EAA is bringing their B-17 back to Deer Valley in April, the first stop of their Spring 2011 tour.
2011 Spring Tour
April 1-3 -- Deer Valley, AZ (DVT), hosted by EAA Warbird Squadron 20
The plane arrived just after the sun went down. It was actually quite a bit darker than it looks like in this photo of it taxiing in to park.

Much better to shoot in the daytime (unless you planned a night shot, of course). :D

Hi-tech fuel gauge.
This visit has to be a major disappointment for the EAA, with only one revenue flight, which was pre-scheduled before they arrived. In my opinion they are partially at fault because there was almost no publicity prior to the visit that I saw, not even posters at the airport. A lot of people are in and out of the terminal and restaurant every day that they should have at least notified that the plane would be there. I talked to several people out there over the last few days who said they didn't know the plane was there until they happened to show up at the airport. There also were no signs at the entrance to the airport advertising the aircraft while they were there.
I wonder if they will be back next year and if it will be the same story for the other touring aircraft groups due in town soon. None of the people I talked to knew that Fifi was coming next week, although some of them had heard about the Collings visit.
