A couple more shots of the Pratt & Whitney 747SP engine testbed. They flew to Colorado Springs today and returned to some nice sunset lighting in Yuma.

Your persistence paid off in spades Mike. Your #2 image is my current favorite. Terrific light and I really like the angle on this image. Well done sir.

Thanks Jeff!! On two different days there was a large, very brief, orange flame and a muffled "woof" from the number three engine as they came out of reverse.
I saw it, but missed the shot both times!! They had a flight plan back to Canada today but apparently did not fly. Not sure what tomorrow will hold.

Very very cool Mike!  What a unique aircraft and top notch shots. The SP is a very interesting specimen, especially this one!

Look who's back in Yuma! They flew over my house a little while ago and then went off to bore holes in the warm sky.

~ And thanks for the nice comments below! ~

Heads up for Tucson folks: The Pratt 747SP testbed (Tracking on Flightaware: PWC743) is in Tucson right now (1630 29Jun15). Earlier they flew from Yuma to C-Springs - no idea what they have planned next.
