Image size for posting

I am a newbie on this board. What would be a good image size for posting on this board? I have been using 800 x 534, 75 resolution. and 1000 x 667, 100 resolution on other sites.

Hi Bill and Welcome...

My personal preference is 1024x on the longest side at 72dpi and a jpg quality of around 9.

Lately though, I've been linking images off my Zenfolio galleries and unless I upload an image that's already 1024x, I only have a choice of 800x or 1100x for landscape orientation or 850x for portrait.
