BLAST FROM THE PAST

Greg Colyer setting the standard for airshow photo-passes, in one of the most beautiful classic jets currently flying, no less.

OUT WITH A BANG

Most likely the last time a Marine CH-46 will be on display at an airshow.

Really awesome shot, Joe!  I wish I had seen this and taken the time to photograph her, but after the fireworks I packed up and didn't look for any other subjects.

The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

Thanks Matt!  I was initially planning to shoot the Magicians' H-60 and the An-2 during the fireworks, but realized most folks were probably going to shoot that and I didn't want to be the jerkwad screwing up everyone else's shots by light-painting the helo in accordance with when I was opening and closing my shutter.  With where the Phrog was parked, I doubted the fireworks would even be visible, but that wound up not being an issue.  I initially thought I heard Zip say we were done when the fireworks were over, so I was kind of in the same boat after that, trying to find something to shoot.  Spent all that time with the An-2, bummed I didn't take another stab at the BUFF when it was darker.

At least the rocket pod looks like it's in pretty good shape.

Right?  Guessing that's the one thing on this aircraft that hasn't made several deployments to Afghanistan.

SEAL OF HONOR

I wavered on posting this for a while due to it being an extreme crop, but got it "good enough" for web use so figured I'd toss it out there.
