The Legend of the Guardian of the Line
The Greek God "Linus" comes from the Greek name Λινος (Linos) meaning "leg."
In Greek legend, he was the son of the God Apollo who was accidentally killed when he stepped over the white line.

SOLAR FLARE
Outstanding! Love the warm/cool color differentiation between the 747 and the background. Also the contrasty/shiny fuselage against the soft warm sky.  If you could dance to it I'd give it a 95. (wonder how many folks will know where that came from)

Talon & Plumage - Can't claim great artistic merit here but I thought the exhaust looked interesting.

PHX ANG as it looked circa 1957. The photo was taken by my father a few hundred yards west of our beloved 40th Street shooting location.

Just a little PHX nostalgia. 1949 & 1959. Ten years makes a difference...

EDIT: According to Sky Harbor's website "In 1940, the US Army brought headquarters to the Airport. The Army would later use Sky Harbor as a place to refuel planes during World War II". That might explain the triangle shape I associate with vintage military air fields. Or, it may simply be how most airports were laid-out in the 1930'/1940's?
