Meet The Photographers .. A Passing Thought

Nice job on the mini galleries. They all look really clean and clear.
It struck me though that a brief bio paragraph might be nice (if it's not too much of a PITA) so that if someone comes across these galleries and would like to contact the photographer, there is info on how to do so.
Great imagery being posted here y'all. Keep up the good work. Three days till blast off for OSH!

I think that's a great idea (I've been thinking the same thing), I'll have to look into that!
I'll be honest, I don't really know the first thing about writing code. I'm pretty sure this entire website/forum is pure luck!

Like they say Matt...
It's better to be lucky than good!

Jay,
The gallery pages are built around a separate Flash application. I have done some digging and it doesn't look like this version of the Flash application supports a separate text field. I posted the question to the author's support forum and I will let you know what comes out of it.

Here's the version ISAP uses:
http://www.aviationphotographers.org/portfolios/ShieldsD/index.htm
I played around with this version a bit, but I couldn't get it to work within our site's layout. I also think the version we are currently using looks a bit better (more professional).
Maybe the key would be having the link go to a separate page with a bio, and on the bio page having a link to the portfolio. That just seems like a lot of links.

This seems like a situation that a wordpress template might actually come in handy, with the bio being done in a bloggish format and the simpleviewer portfolio being embedded on that page.

That would require a separate WordPress blog for each photographer.

Matt,
Could you remind me (us) what file sizes/quantities you need in order for us to get our page up? Things are slowing down on the aviation front and I might eek out a bit of spare time to get mine done.

Good, I was thinking about deleting the page because we didn't have much participation.
