Iconic work Joseph.  You crushed the exposure and the wide/tight crop is spot on.  The subtle highlight gently falling on the intake provides just the right balance to the contrasting silhouette of the canopy.  Of course, this is just my humble opinion.

Amazing that this bird was stable enough to recover after receiving this level of damage.  It looks like a couple of the Remote Control antennas were lost/damaged as well making recover even more challenging (leading edge and dorsal edge of the the Vertical Tail).    Two really nice shots Joe.  Well Done!

A little polishing compound and a coat of wax it'll look factory new!

Sleeping Beauty

This F-4E was salvaged from the boneyard for preservation at the Dutch Military museum at the old Soesterberg Airbase. It is painted to represent a phantom of the 32nd TFS, while it was stationed here. This particular example scored a MiG kill, which is still present, although this airframe never operated from Soesterberg. After arrival it remained in storage for many years, only being showed to the public officially last weekend for special aviation days at the museum.

Very nice Bjorn, always good to see a classic F-4E, it'll be a great addition to the Dutch Military museum.

Bjorn van der Flier

it is a great addition, but it will be locked up again for some time now. They have about all aircraft which operated the 32nd, but the F-100 is in restoration, the 102 and 86 are outside all the time.
