Some of the "more to follow"...

This image shows the reflection of the high pressure sodium lights from March AFB illuminating the left side of the C-45 and the faint shadow of the fencing helping to create an interesting (to me) fabric of tones, lines, textures, and highlights.

Nothing more appealing than riveted bare aluminum. That aircraft alone would be worth the trip to March. Nicely captured. Love the dusk light.

Thank you Joseph. As you know, I became obsessed with shooting the D-21 in a variety of lighting conditions. In excess of mach 3 for goodness sakes. I want a ride on this nasty, nasty platform  ;D

BLUE BANDIT

Like Jeff, I really appreciated the interesting, overlapping 'micro-shadows' from the ramp lights at March ARB across the airfield.  You can see them clearly on the fuel tanks of this GORGEOUS TA-4.

Also, I'm apparently only capable of shooting aircraft from a front-quarter angle on the right/starboard side.  Think I'm going to have to make a better effort the next time around.

For goodness sakes, I almost got the entire airplane in this image. I'll need to be more careful next time! Actually, I was composing one of the many tightly framed shots that I took of the Beech C-45 when I noticed the very nice warm light falling on the Skytrain. I quickly spun my camera 180* on the tripod and got off one shot before the light was gone. If I had more time, I probably wouldn't have taken such a "wide" photograph. I definitely get lucky from time to time  ;)

It's more than luck Jeff, all of the photos from Riverside that you and Joe posted are exceptional, and praise worthy. Great work guys, thanks for sharing!   :)

Damn, that's nice.

Probably not intended, but the 'swoop' of the curving road in the background gives this shot a slightly dynamic feel that I like.  And that reflection is just awesome.  Wish I would have shot more deliberately in this light, I was just scouting things I might want to shoot in the dark, looking for angles, figuring out what lens I'll need, etc.

Another subtle example of the interesting (to me) visual textures created by the ambient light reflecting off the C-45's metallic skin and the shadows created by the fencing nearby. If I would have had more time and self discipline, I could easily spent my entire visit making one composition after another with the C-45 as centerpiece.

Can I pay to have this printed on aluminum? I'm not even kidding Jeff. This is a super stellar image. Definitely captures the still futuristic lines of this mystical aircraft.
